N562 Series Emergency Shutoff Valves (ESVs) are designed for railcar protection and attach to the shutoff valves on railroad tank cars. Typically, three Type N562s are used: two on the liquid lines and one on the vapor line. Pneumatically operated, the valve is opened and closed by means of a standard quick-disconnect coupling. Remote closure from one or more points is accomplished by exhausting pressure from the valves piston chamber with a pneumatic control valve.
